Freelance Manual Notetakers
OCN qualified or willing to undertake training
Where: London - Central and Outer
When: April and Sept 2013
Who: Notetakers - OCN qualified or willing to undertake training.
Qualifications and skills needed : OCN trained in working with deaf students or students with access needs. At least level 2 English skills. You should be able to write fluently and clearly in English, using accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation. You should also have good listening and comprehension skills and be able to read out texts and express yourself clearly.
What else: An Oyster card and a current DBS (formerly CRB) check is also needed.
Why: We are building a ”small but perfect” team of written notetakers for working with deaf or students with access needs in Higher and Further Education, initially in London. CPD will be provided as part of our requirements.
What will Clarion do:
- If you would be interested in training at a Central London venue to gain the OCN qualification, applications to the Clarion bursary scheme could be considered. The training is on 11th and 12th May 2013.
- Help with applications for DBS checks.
- Support for CPD.
- All other support as necessary e.g. an initial meeting, 24/7 contact, prompt payment,
administration and back up.
