A pot of cash for those in need
The Clarion Community Chest is a fund for FREE communication support and ensures equality of access for everyone. It is aimed at deaf individuals, deaf event organisers or deaf organisations that need communication support for an event but simply have no funds to pay for it.
The FREE sessions can be used during the week or at weekends for all types of events and only when the Equalities Act would not apply. It may be for a community event such as a football match, protest march, arts festival or a wedding, or for something like a hairdressing appointment or voluntary work. The Community Chest can be used during the week or at weekends, at whatever time suits the customer. We are predicting that over 100 members of the deaf community will use the Community Chest in the first year!
